Curtis Curley, goes by the stage name of Renzo, hails from Houston, Texas and is a songwriter and rapper. Growing up in Acres Home, Renzo used music to take his mind off of the local issues of the neighborhood. He grew up listening to R&B, Blues, and all sub-genres of hip hop to include gangsta rap and backpack rap. He started singing cover songs for local talent shows in 1996 and gradually moved into writing remixes to songs and singing them during bus rides home, breakfast, and lunchtimes. In 1998 he developed a passion for rapping and writing his own songs and presenting during school. His influences include Devin the Dude, Busta Rhymes, Ceel-lo Green, Anthony Hamilton, John Legend and a plethora of other notable MC's and singers. He began to record his own freestyle mix tapes in 2003, which featured many of his childhood friends known locally as the F.U.C. Since then, he has written and recorded over 100 songs and has been performing on local Houston scene since May of 2010. His first notable performances were at an event called Turnin Headz where he became and instant favorite for his witty and effortless freestyling ability. From this event, headed by That Purple Bastard Productions, it has spring boarded him to the Houston underground scene. Notable hits include songs such as "Drinkin and Drivin", "Fo Yoself", and "Bye Lance". His potent content and stage presence are what keep his fans thoroughly entertained. He is sure to be a fan favorite and every rappers favorite songwriter.
